Summary: Great bang for the buck interface
Comment: I've been using this for almost 4 years now with no issues whatsoever. The only real problem I've ever had with it was fairly late vista and 64 bit support but I was lucky enough to have been a participant for their 64 bit driver beta testing and with vista 64, it performed flawlessly.

If your computer has at least 2 gigs of ram (which it should if you're recording) and a core 2 duo cpu or something like that you shouldn't have any latency issues. I recorded with an old Pentium 4 and 2 gigs of ram and never had any latency issues.

I mainly use it for recording a pair of mic's on a guitar cab. The preamps are decent but I prefer using my ART digital MPA until I can upgrade later on.

M-Audio has full XP/Vista 32 bit and 64 bit driver support now as well as a forum where their techs and developers actually DO frequent so tech support shouldn't be a problem.

Summary: Great for DJing, okay for recording.
Comment: I find the gain has to be high on all the mics I put into this thing. Electric guitar straight in works great. Would be great as a dual out for DJing, but with microphone recording (used SM57 and MKH416)you've gotta be really loud or the gain has to be up too high and adds noise. Basically there's a tiny range where the pots seem to go WAY up. it's tough to get that at just the right point, it's kinda like all or nothing. It works for mic recording, but if you're really serious I'd go with something better. But again, for DJing or recording direct from electric guitars it's great.

solid, small workhorse thats simple to use. I go in and out of my mixer with it, turn the channel to 10 with no hiss !
It works great with Sonar and Sound Forge. Amazon's price was the lowest.

Summary: Hands down the worst device for recording
Comment: At first glance I thought this was the perfect solution for my Mac Pro -- a nice little USB recording interface with SPDIF in/out and simple interface. I was completely wrong.

The drivers for this device are the worst I have ever had the displeasure to install. Under OS X 10.5.4 the SPDIF in simply does not work AT ALL. No config options are available to any software program or even at the OS level. M-Audio forums are flooded with issues and the device simply doesn't work as advertised.

M-Audio, shame on you for releasing such a crappy product and ignoring your users.
